Samantha Akkineni as village belle Rama Lakshmi and Aadhi Pinisetty as Kumar Babu in Rangasthalam, this successful combination has now moved on to Telugu and Tamil remake of Kannada super hit super natural thriller U-Turn in the direction of Pawan Kumar, produced by Srinivas Chitturi on the banner, Srinivasaa Silver Screen. This untitled flick has finished the first schedule and began with second schedule today.
U-Turn is the story of a journalist unraveling the mystery of motorists dying on a particular flyover and none other than Samantha is playing the journo. Pawan Kumar, the director of Kannada original is helming the remake calls Samantha’s role as a character of life and her performance proving a point of her growing stature as one among the most professional actors. Aadhi Pinisetty is playing the male lead is on a purple patch showing off his versatility as a cop in this bilingual.
“U-Turn is a film on a universal subject that goes beyond the qualms of language and culture which has been a reason why it is being remade in both Tamil and Telugu with confidence. Since it is also a supernatural thriller it is being dealt carefully. We began shooting last month and have finished the first schedule and we’re well on our way with second schedule started in Special set erected in Booth Bungalow. The cast comprises of Samantha, Aadhi and Rahul Ravindran in vital roles while camera cranked by Niketh Bommi.
Additionally, we have actor Naren playing a crucial role as well as Bhumika Chawla who comes in as the surprise element in the movie. The team is going overboard to recreate the original magic and I am confident that we can definitely do it,” said director Pawan Kumar.
