In ‘Shaakuntalam’, Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays a troubled love-struck woman smitten by the gorgeous Dushyanta, a king played by Dev Mohan. The pan-India film’s trailer was released today. The two characters, who are smitten by love for each other (the male lead forgets about Shakuntala due to a curse by Durvasa Mahamuni, an angry character played by Mohan Babu), get the most dominant presence in the trailer.
The film, produced by Neelima Guna, seems to have been made as a semi-entertainer with song-and-dance interludes.
Mohan Babu and Gautami are seen prominently. Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Jisshu Sengupta have different roles in the movie.
Mani Sharma’s music and Raju Sundaram’s choreography are expected to complement each other.
Set to arrive at the cinemas on February 17 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, this Gunasekhar-directed film is produced by Neelima Guna and presented by Dil Raju.
